A place shaped by mountain life
More than where our trout is raised.
Jiri is a mountain town in Dolakha, known for green valleys, forested hills, waterfalls, a cool climate and a peaceful rural landscape.
Our farm sits at around 1,900 metres, where the mountain climate and naturally cold spring water create excellent conditions for raising rainbow trout.
The historic gateway to Everest
Before flights to Lukla became common, Jiri was a starting point for journeys into the Everest region. The traditional route was used by early expeditions, including the historic 1953 Everest expedition associated with Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary.
Jiri’s water, climate, farming traditions and local community shape every fish we raise.
